After a long weekend and a few running adventures, it looks like we’re back to the grind, folks. A weekend trip to Nevada to celebrate with family and help finalize some plans for my sister’s wedding turned out to be a pretty productive weekend, including a scorching 14 mile run. Perhaps this is the time I will tell you that I hate, yes, emphasis on HATE, running in the heat. I was out the door by 7:30 and it was still too friggin’ hot! Perhaps it was the freshly paved asphalt that seemed to magnify the heat ten-fold or perhaps it’s just me being a whiny baby, but either way…heat and I don’t get along. Is it fall yet?
Last Thursday, I met up with the San Francisco Lululemon run group to get in 10 post-work miles, which was also when I captured a little gem that made my digital heart giggle. Juxtapose to the new signage I found on my runs in Nevada this weekend and it’s easy to see the vast differences in running in Nevada versus California. My favorite part? The “DON’T RUN” verbiage on the bear sign. Grrrrrawrrr!
Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. GO AMERICA!
Ha! I love that ipad sign 🙂 And yes, TOTALLY different worlds there.
I hate warm weather running, too. When I go home to Hawaii in the summer I have to be DONE running by 7:30 at the latest to have any prayer of finishing with dignity.
