Ladies and gentleman, I have an urgent news message….CANNON BALL!!! (Anyone, anyone…name that movie quote!) But seriously, the doctors have called and while they do not have a cure, they think they may have found temporary relief for IGSSOMRMIWTB. If you haven’t heard about this serious, serious runners ailment, you can learn more about it here, or let me just tell you, it stands for “I‘m Getting So Sick Of My Running Music I Want To Barf.” But thanks to you and all of your great suggestions, I’ve FINALLY made a quasi-amazing running playlist. Yes, yes, go, go! Check out the playlist here (NOTE: You have to have iTunes to open this playlist. If it’s not working for you, please let me know).
Truth be told, I was hoping iTunes would let you publish playlists even if you don’t own the song, but it turns out that you have to purchase the song in order to publish an iMix. Thus, I didn’t get to include everyone’s recommendations (I only have limited funds, people), but I was sure to include my entire running playlist that I am currently listening to. HOWEVER, if you are looking to legally download music and want to save some change, I highly recommend checking out Amazon’s MP3 store. All of the songs are roughly 30 cents cheaper than iTunes and while that may not seem like much, trust me, it definitely adds up. I may have, just maybe, downloaded these all from Amazon and imported them into an iTunes mix 😉
And one final warning for music aficionados, I am not very original when it comes to music (I leave that to my friends, Erin and Chloe). I will fully admit that I love top 40 and this playlist covers everything from Britney Spears, Ke$ha and Lady Gaga, to Ferdinand + The Machine and Cage the Elephant. So take a look, let me know if you have any other suggestions, or feel free to tell me that I need to stop listening to the sixth grader music.
In other news of the world (or at least my neck of the woods), Chicken and I went to Reno (AGAIN!) this weekend for his cousin’s baby shower and for a mini birthday celebration. It was some great quality, family time (insert “awwwwe” here). As far as running is concerned, it was a really bad week and weekend long run. I woke up on Saturday morning with the intention of running 14 miles, but my body was simply not having it. It was one of the most difficult runs I have done in a long time and I think it was out of pure exhaustion. Have you ever felt that way? Where you are just completely exhausted from the week and as much as you want to, your body is just dead to the world? Yeah, that was me. I put in a craptastic 10 miles and called it a day. I’m hoping that the much needed rest will yield better results this week.
Random weekend photo: Chicken and I watching the new parents open mounds of gifts.
Any-who…enjoy the music and happy running!
