Ooooooh, the weather outside is frightful…and my dear is so…wait, er, scratch that. The weather outside isn’t frightful, but my own fear of running in dark, wee hours of the morning is definitely hindering my running schedule.
Confession time: I’m afraid to run in the dark by myself. But I feel like that’s a totally legit fear, no? A girl has got to be safe! So here’s the deal-io: In order to fit a morning run in and make it to work on time, I have to be out the door running no later than 5 a.m., then leave my house for work by 7 a.m. Thus, I have to run in the dark and I don’t know anyone in my town that is willing to run with me that early. My question for you: how do you battle your fear of running in the dark? I’m also looking to purchase some reflective gear in an effort to help me on these runs…
What reflective gear do you recommend? Vests? Headlamps? Beacon?
Please share all the deets!
And of course, we need a photo! Being the digital nerd that I am, last week my co-workers and I got gussied up (ok, we just changed in the office bathroom) and went to The Social Media Prom. Yes, we felt like celebs for two seconds. BAM!
P.S. Once I hear from you all, I’ll be sure to make some purchases and report back on my first-ever dark, morning run.
