I survived!
Don’t mind the acne – it’s sexy here on the west coast.
I’ll save the race recap for when I’m back in town, but just dropping in to say that I not only survived the Big Sur marathon, but the Boston 2 Big Sur challenge as well!
Time: 3:50:00 (Exactly – weird. I know.)
Overall: 647/3218
Women: 179/1548
Division: 32/224
I went into the race with the goal of taking it nice and easy. No goal time – just enjoy the run. When the race started and my Garmin flashed “low battery,” I thought I was doomed! But low and behold, I ran without it and instead with a pace group with the intention of “just being”…it was simply blissful. Two medals and a B2B race jacket later, and I’m one happy camper.
It sounds like everyone else had some AMAZING races today as well, I can’t wait to read all of the race reports! Until later, it’s time for some R&R with the lovely ladies.
Happy Running!

Wow that’s fantastic… cool jacket too! That is so amazing that you were able to do that, great job!
So rad. I’m really excited to hear your thoughts on Big Sur, because it sounds WAY more awesome to me than Boston — I mean the immense beauty of it, and of course the fact that it is easier to get to.
You are a marathon master! 2 in one week — yeesh. Rest those strong little legs!
Congrats Page!
WOWWW AMAZING!! You are SO FAST!! On such a tough course too!! I’m in awe!! CONGRATS and I love the medals! 😀
Congrats! That is awesome!
Amazing job! I am SO excited to see all of the pics. I know this will 100% lead me to impulsively extend the SF trip a few days so Foxy & I can check this area out!! Congrats! Also, awesome jacket, wear that one with pride 🙂
congrats! you are SUCH a bad ass. seriously, i want to be you. awesome boston 2 big sur performance!
Awesome job! I was down there for my cousins girlfriend who was running the race – we went to the expo on Saturday. We also drove the course down to Big Sur to do a short hike. The course is seriously insanely hard! It seems like the hills never end. I definitely think that course is harder than SF. I definitely believe that Big Sur is the most gorgeous marathon in the US – you spend like 90% of your time right by the water. Your time is great on its own, but considering that you just ran Boston Marathon is even more impressive!
Great job girlfriend! You rocked it!!!!
yay! congrats!
Congrats! Glad to hear acne is cool on the West Coast. I’ve been wearing some without even realizing it was in style!
Wow – you’re totally amazing!!! A big fat congratulations to you for kicking some serious butt! I’ll think of you running back-to-backs as I complain through my 1 marathon this Saturday! Have I told you rock?
AMAZING! Can’t wait for the full report!
Hi Page, I really enjoyed reading this and congrats on finishing both! I also did the B2B challenge this year and had the most incredible time… we lucked out with there being 13 days in between! Here is my blog write-up if you fancied checking it out – http://www.cheekyrunning.com/2011/05/big-sur-marathon.html
Keep up the good work! Martin
