We leave for our honeymoon TOMORROW NIGHT and while the potential for excitement is overwhelming, the fact that I haven’t started packing yet is causing a bit of an anxiety attack. It’s true, this is literally all I have packed thus far:
I had grand intentions of buying adorable beach-going ensembles to commemorate the special event, and while I did manage to get in a mani/pedi, a new shirt and a bathing suit, my efforts have been dismal. However, from the glass half full POV, I did write my packing list last night and this leads me to my next Digital Favorites: Wunderlist.
As you may know, I LOVE lists. Nothing gives you quite the organizational satisfaction of doing an all-out brain dump 50 items long, and the empowerment that comes with crossing each of these items off. However, carrying around a notepad, along with all of a digital dudettes must haves can be cumbersome. Plus, I’m the type of person that if my to-do list gets too messy, I start a brand new one…just because I’m crazy. Thus, the appeal of Wunderlist.
Wunderlist proclaims itself to be “Task Management At Its Best” and I believe it — it’s the most seamless to-do list app that I’ve seen thus far. With one account, you can create hundreds of lists, all with their given tasks, that live in the cloud. That way, you can access your lists anywhere: online, from the PC or Mac desktop app, from the iPhone or Android app – pretty much anywhere you’ll need it!
Want to be uber organized? You can share entire lists or individual tasks via email, or invite people to collaborate on the list. Of course, the standard printing, deadlines, reminders, search and other associated functionality is included. For the design aficionado in you, it’s simple, clean, sharp and you can choose your Wunderlist background…now I only wish it had the ability to upload photos as backgrounds.
And of course…it’s all FREE!
While I’ve only just begun using Wunderlist, I can already see how it will help make my digital and running life that much more organized. No more writing random one-offs on the iPhone Notes app and no more re-writing lists more times than I’d care to admit because they look “messy.”
I plan on creating a “pre-race” list that I can reference each time I’m packing for a race, but what would you use Wunderlist for? How do you stay organized? List lover, too?
Happy Running!
P.S. I was not contacted by anyone to write about Wunderlist. It’s just a personal favorite that I thought I’d share with you all.
i am a total slave to lists. i created a spreadsheet especially for packing for trips- seriously the best thing i’ve ever done as now packing is simple and much less stressful (I list outfits by day so i know that i have enough but not too many outfits for a trip- i don’t have to wear them on the days i put on the spreadsheet, but i know overall, i’m prepared).
in the office, i use index cards for the week’s key items and then start a new one the following week to avoid list clutter.
i’ll have to check out this app- thanks for the tip!
have a blast on your honeymoon!!
I am sOoo excited for this app thanks for the heads up! Have a wonderful honeymoon
OMG I love this – I LOVE lists but I hate pads of paper! Downloading as we speak!
Enjoy your fabulous honeymoon! 🙂
Hmmm, I’d use it for wedding planning, our day-to-day project management, packing for trips, and so on! So excited you shared this, I am a list maker as well. Consequently, I have lists in all kinds of notebooks and often times have a hard time finding the right list . . .
Have fun on your honeymoon!!!
I love Wunderlist too! Its essential for list making. I also love StickyNotes App because you can save it as your lock-screen so its there every time you touch your phone!!
Good find! I love lists. Crossing something off makes me feel so accomplished, even if it’s something that took 2 minutes.
This app seems perfect for a grocery list to me! No need to bring a sheet of paper, no need to try to type the list on your phone. Jot it down on your computer and it’s on your phone to bring to the store!
that’s pretty cool, i use lists mostly for grocery shopping so that’d be super helfpful right now i just email it to myself but that gets messy and unreadable pretty fast as i start to add things
my iphone and google calendar are two of the best things that have happened to me this year, yay organization! i’ll have to give wunderlist a try – currently all of my lists are in a moleskin notebook. it would be nice to have everything in one place 🙂
i love lists and have been looking for one to get for my iphone for a while now. thanks for sharing about wunderlist. i’m going to download it today 🙂
I love lists. The only problem is that I ten to have ten of them at once, half on post its, half electronic, all unorganized. Maybe this would help. 🙂
have you ever tried teuxdeux.com ? another good one, but the iphone app isn’t free (the web service is!) i like how it integrates a to-do list with a calendar! super helpful!
i live for lists, too! i have a similar app on my phone where i have separate lists for to-do items, books i want to read, movies i want to see, races coming up/on my wishlist, etc. i like the idea of a packing list and pre-race list, too! my lists keep me sane : )
OMG Jut what I need another thing to make lists with!! I Have google spreadsheets all over the place but now I can have this on my phone too!!
Have fun on your honeymoon!!! SO exciting!
I usually use Tasks in google but that’s kind of a pain… or I make lists on paper and lose them. This is awesome! I feel like there are sooo many apps out there that are amazing but I don’t know about!
My lists are usually scattered on about twelve different pieces of paper….oops?
I <3 making lists, too!!! Thanks for sharing this. I've been using it for a few weeks now and LOVE it!!! Hope you have a great honeymoon.
