Well would you look at that…it’s Friday and there’s a weekend full of running plans ahead of us. On Saturday I’ll be heading out to Danville for the Lululemon long run but will only be putting in four casual miles in preparation for Sunday’s NorCal half marathon. Speaking of which, let’s talk goals. Come Sunday, I’d like to aim for 1) minimal GI issues (yes, this is a goal), and 2) seeing what these legs can do.
If you’re saying, “Wow, way to make the most ambiguous goals ever,” you’re right. Would I like to break my 1:31 PR? Of course. Have I been putting in the speed work to sustain a 6:42 pace for 13.1 miles? No. Thus, I’m going to go out with these goals in the back of my mind, but remind myself that it’s OK if they don’t happen. Either way, I just need to go out there, give it my all, and try to have some fun along the way.
Now on to Friday Favs!
I’ve always been a subscriber to Runner’s World, but it’s about time that I joined the Running Times party as well. Check.
After the rough time I was having last week, these showed up on my desk at work. A lovely surprise from my parents that just make me want to smile.
Guess who turns two on Sunday?! My little baby Lola. I’ll save the mushy mommy ramble for another post. For now, let’s just do a collective, “Awwwwwweeeeee.”
Oh ya, this. I got it out from storage, had it tuned up, and well…more on this later.
And now for the winner of the Oiselle arm warmers giveaway. Congratulations to (drum roll please)…
J from YummyRunning.blogspot.com!
Please email me your address and we’ll send you your prize! A big thank you to everyone who entered as well.
Anyone else racing this weekend? Let me know if you are going to be at either of these events – would love to meet up!
Happy Running!
have a great race this weekend!
Lola is the cutest!!! Love that dress! Good luck this weekend! I am skipping my 4-mile race to focus on my 20-miler. Right now my upcoming marathon on October 9 is the priority for me.
I have non-time goals all the time! eg – this weekend I’m running a 10K and my goal is to “feel strong throughout and to be able to put a confidence up arrow next to Sat in my training log” — sound fluffy? Yes. Oh well.
Also, dog is adorable!
My first half marathon this weekend — Surftown Half Marathon — in Misquamicut and Watch Hill, RI. Yikes!!!!!
Have an amazing race weekend!!
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLA!!! The cutest puppy ever!
good luck this weekend!
I love seeing that the bike has come out of storage!!!! Good Luck this weekend 🙂
those flowers are beautiful! how lovely of your parents to think of you…especially right before the tragedy in your hometown happened. I am so out of the loop with news, I had not heard about it. Very sad.
And gooooood luck tomorrow!!!! I think those long legs of yours have a PR in them, I really do. It is a great course (I hear), so it will be FUN first and foremost.
Hey I just for back from my honeymoon and saw this! Will be emailing tomorrow. Currently stuck in JFK airport delayed until late tonight.
