It’s 11 a.m. on Sunday, my Vegas roomies and I (Aron, Emily and Sarah) and we have made the conscious decision to be as lazy as possible until the 5:30 race start.
While the world “lazy” is usually not in our vocabulary, we think we have a legitimate reason to sit on our butts and do nothing but creep social media, blog and watch TV until race time. Why is that you ask? Well let me count the ways…
Friday night wasn’t just the first night I got in, but also the first time to stay up way past my old-man 10 p.m. bedtime to meet the slew of other bloggers descending upon Las Vegas.
Allow me too geek out for a moment, but Janae is as nice in person as she is in her blog. Aron and I are both in the process of brainwashing her to move to NorCal. I think we’re making good progress.
Sorry Janae, I totally stole the “smile like Janae” photo off your blog.
Oh heeeeeeeeeey Ali, fancy spotting you randomly post-dinner. Don’t mind us, we’ll just interrupt your date night and talk about nothing but running for 30 minutes to ensure that your boyfriend is uncomfortable.
Oh, and in case you didn’t know, these Steven by Steve Madden boots are all the rage. Proof.
More drinks? Why not!
With SkinnyRunner, RunEatRepeat, SarahOUaL, HungryRunnerGirl, RunnersRambles, Me , Emily and RunningofftheReeses.
The next day was one for the record books as Aron and I participated in the Santa Run 5K – complete with a five piece Santa suit. Race report coming soon.
After the Santa mayhem we headed to the expo to pick up our bibs. Uhhh…marathon? Not what I had in mind for this weekend.
Ok, ok, if you have to twist my arm.
The remainder of the day was filled with two more blogger meet-ups and some of the most delicious margaritas ever. Don’t we look sophisticated?
If anyone asks you if drinking and dancing until the wee hours of the morning is an appropriate pre-race strategy? Say YES! Dancing the night away with my favorite people was one of the best parts of the trip thus far!
Janae and I like to get low, low, low, low.
Yes, Jess’ booty is THAT good.
Oh hey Chicken Face, don’t worry. I’m alive. Now let me sing you a special little song.
Oh, and in case you wanted to know what it was like rooming with four bloggers/runners while in Vegas, I think these before and after room photos can sum it up best:
BEFORE
AFTER
Tonight’s race is sure to be one of the most interesting races I’ve ever done. With no PR, fuel or race strategy in hand, I’m ready to try and have as much fun as possible. We’ll report back soon on more Vegas shenanigans.
Happy Running!
Actually, it looks like you’re doing fine in the ‘hydration’ department. I notice the salt on the rim… good thinking… electrolytes.
CLEARLY we were considering our electrolytes.
Man! I’m wishing I were running Vegas this year instead of last year. Love the red pants!
Have fun! Celine and Barry Maniow and those dudes with the Tigers are watching you!!!
Ah, that looks so fun! And dancing is always an appropriate pre-race strategy 🙂 Have fun!
haaaaa, you and Aron really nailed the Janae-so-happy-my-neck-stretches smile! Her mood is infectious, I fully support the NorCal move. I can plan the kidnapping if you like.
p.s. I see you attracted a crowd of spectating middle-age men while getting low….everything about this post is making me laugh 🙂 y’all know how to have a good time
that beard is solid.
i cant believe you can get low, get margaritas, get crazy and run a 1:33. ridic.
Um, I am obsessed with you. We decided we are moving there whether or not we get into law school. Remember your killer time? You are my hero.
So fun meeting you beautiful Page!! We are total friends for life now that my booty has been fondled! Ha! Live all the pics! That is preparing for a race at it’s finest!!
Would it be crazy of me to say I love those boots and have been looking for ones just like them?! Do you know what the name of them is?? 🙂
