Week four was sad. A sad, sad week indeed.
Week four was the short week inbetween Christmas and New Years that was supposed to be light on work and heavy on training and fun. But, as you’ve heard me harp more times than I’d care to admit, I got sick. But not just “Oh man, I don’t feel well…” but two days off of work, literally doing nothing in bed and getting to know my new Kindle quite well.
It’s one thing to feel like crap, then it’s an entirely different thing when your coach tells you no training. Zero. So instead of a week toward the goal, all I did was one measly swim and go certifiable stir-crazy.
As I started to get enough energy to get out of bed, coach Paul still said no working out as I had to kick it. Thus, I spent the remainder of the week lamenting with the rest of my family who is now sick and wishing I was training instead of investing in Kleenex stock.
However, we did muster up enough energy to have friends over to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
I’m still fighting this bug but MORE than anxious to get back in the game. Good thing it’s early on in the training schedule…
Next up…2012 goals! How did you celebrate New Year’s Eve?
Happy Running!
Yikes sorry you got so sick last week! I’m sure the next week of training will go great for you. Your NYE celebrations look awesome 🙂
I’m glad that you at least got to have your New Year’s bash. I just spent mine with family.
Good luck with your training! And hope that you stay healthy for the remainder of your training.
Hope you are feeling back to normal soon!
so sorry you were sick this week but it sounds like you’re on the road to recovery!
and you had an amazing 2011. cheers to even more accomplishments this year!
This is how I’m feeling this week… my first official week of Boston training and I am laid up with what feels like the PLAGUE. Ugh. Hope you are fully recovered and back at it!
