Ahhh yes, week 32 and 33. I didn’t forget about you, but you lacked any training that was really worthy of individual posts.
Week 32, the week leading up to Vineman, was supposed to be taper, but it turned into a, “Oh shiz, my knee! Ice, rest, roll and repeat…” week. The week after Vineman, week 33, was what my coach called a transition week. This week was designed to allow me time to recovery mentally and physically from the months of training. I probably abused this week by only doing two workouts the entire week – both of which were under an hour each. Bute more important than the physical break was the mental break, allowing me to spend a week off prepping for my last day at work and my anniversary.
Back at it. Because of this pool, I can’t bring myself to go swimming at the indoor gym pool anymore.
New glasses with embarrassing MySpace-ish photo.
Last Bart commute.
I apologize for the world’s most unappealing blog post ever, but I’ll opt out of posting all of the workouts from the two weeks and instead post the totals.
I closed out week 32 with:
7 hours and 37 minutes of training and racing: (Includes Vineman)
4,617.9 yards swimming
66.3 miles cycling
18.1 miles running
Many, many minutes rolling
I closed out week 33 with:
1 hour and 15 minutes of training:
1,600 yards swimming
4 miles running
Do you take a complete week or more off after a big race? How long before you’re back and training?
