I could complain on and on about my stupid knee, but the truth of the matter is, it’s not really what’s important in life.
What IS important is some really exciting news in my family…
I’m going to be an aunt!!!
I have two sisters and my sister, Caroline, is the first to get pregnant! It’s a bit of a shock that we’re not little girls anymore, sharing a room, making Barbie waterbeds, and staying up late and giggling. But I’m so excited for her and Nate and just wanted to share the love here. Congrats you two – I can’t wait to meet the little one in April!
Caroline and I back in the day with our pup, Chaz.
All grown up – love you, Caroline!
Now, I’m on a mission to be the best aunt EVER – what are your “best aunt ever” tips?!
Exciting! Congrats to Caroline!
I only have one niece so far, and she’s an absolute blast to hang out with! My advice would be to be active with her! When she was learning to walk she loved for me to “chase” her or run while carrying her. Now, at 2.5, she loves to play tag or race me!
Ahhhhh amazing news! Congratulations!!! 🙂 Being an aunt is THE best!
Being an aunt is AWESOME. I’m an only child but married into a big family, so I’m an aunt-by-marriage to many. When they’re older, you can be a cool person to talk to who ISN’T THEIR PARENTS, GAWD. And when they’re little, you can be the best aunt ever by bouncing them on your knee, lifting them in the air, pushing them on the swings, and always having a band-aid in your purse to fix a boo-boo.
Congratulations Page and congratulations to your sister as well!
This is really exciting news. I don’t habe siblings but a baby is always a blessing!
Yay congratulations to you AND your sister! I just found out tonight that I’m going to be an aunt too. Looks like I’m in good company.
Learn to forget the ‘n’ word. The word “no” does not exist in an aunt’s vocabulary until the kid is at least three or in mortal danger.
Aw! Congrats to your sister and family!
Congrats! I have 2 nieces and 4 nephews, and being an aunt is the best thing EVER. One thing that I’ve always tried to do is to spoil them with quality time and conversation, not with toys or material things. (Even though I think baby clothes are THE CUTEST. It’s so hard to say no to tiny socks!) Especially as they get older, I try to go do stuff with them (like getting froyo or hot cocoa from Starbucks) and get to know who they really are. I think sometimes it’s cool for them to have a grown up who’s interested in what they really feel or have to say. When they were babies, I just spent a lot of time playing with them and reading books to them. Have fun!!
