What the?! Thanksgiving has passed?!
I didn’t even get to do a super sentimental “what I’m thankful for” post! I know, I know, you’re heartbroken. Well, let’s just pretend that I wrote that post, I teared up a little writing it, and then I went on my merry way. More importantly, I hope you all had a happy turkey day!
It’s funny, when you’re not training and forced to limit your activity, you suddenly have time to do SO MUCH. Well, not so much, our apartment still isn’t clean, but you know, time to do things that make me want to be a fashion or food blogger, then I remember that probably wouldn’t work out so well. BUT, I did find time to…
Curl my hair.
LOOK MA! I actually put the ballerina bun to rest and curled my mother freaking hair!
Hung out with the sleepy yoga puppy.
Saw Santa with my pregnant sister and cousin.
Sported pretty much the hottest freaking workout top I’ve ever seen c/o Oakley.
OH SNAP!
Was the crazy person at Target on Black Friday with crutches so I could get a new TV for our bedroom that we, um, totally needed. I was hoping for some sympathy points so I wouldn’t get trampled.
Went out for drinks with friends.
Made a new friend.
Bought cobalt blue pants and sported them with my Citizen Watch c/oWatchCo.
Can you sense the retail therapy theme yet?
Felt like an idiot taking photos of myself in my car, but I just can’t get enough of my new Oakley Twentysix.2 glasses! Thank you, Oakley!
I’m anxious to get back into the active life, and so is my wallet…
How do you pass time on the injured reserve list?
you look super cute with your hair curled! i love that pic.
while on the injured reserve list i’ve found myself experimenting with random recipes AKA burning things in the kitchen,. it’s been a blast and i’m sure my roommates can’t wait for me to start running again 🙂
Love the curly hair and all the purchases! Retail therapy does feel pretty good.
I’m a total baker when I’m on the injured or sick list. It’s not so good because the calories in are way higher than the calories out!
Did you get my email last week about my race thoughts? Do you have any more ideas?
Just wrote you back 🙂
And yes, this calories in vs. calories out is always a bit off while injured. My cooking has definitely seen an increase during this time!!
I’m such an advertisers dream. I just emailed some Oakley sunglasses as a Christmas want after seeing these. I love the Warm Up glasses! Very cute. And yes, idle hands lead me to online shopping. Retail therapy is just as good as any other form of therapy.
Don’t knock the retail therapy, it does amazing things for the soul!! I’m glad you had the crutches to beat off the other crazies on Black Friday.
I’ve found that when I’m forced to take a break due to injury, I either get super productive and we have a very clean and tidy house or I go the opposite direction and become very lazy.
Looks like you have been mighty productive. 🙂
Retail therapy suits you. And I just want to squish (in a nice way…) that little fluff ball pup of yours!
For me, it’s all about the junk food. BAAAAD.
Don’t you worry, there’s been plenty of bad food. And come to CA and you can squish the pup (in a nice way)!
Love the curly hair and love your blog! So inspiring!
Thank you so much!
Love the retail therapy…it’s not like triathlons are cheap, either! ha.
i spend 90% of my life with my hair up, I don’t know how people have the energy/will power to do their hair every day!
So I’ve never commented even though I’ve been reading your blog for about a year. I had to comment on this post because I just told my roommate I had to stop “Injury pity shopping.” I’ve been sidelined since late October and am going on week 4 in a walking cast. For real today I brought a long, flowey sweater (that I did not need) because it “would look cute with leggings and the boot!”
Ha! Don’t worry, it’s better than some forms of therapy 🙂
