The husband and I have a tradition simply called, “Cheers-ing.” It’s easy: before we drink at dinner, we take a moment to cheers to the highlight of the day, even if your day was so terrible and the only thing worth celebrating was that you used a super smooth pen, it still counts. It’s the little things or the big things, but the important part is taking a moment to pause and reflect.
So I thought I’d try something on for size: a simple way to look back at the week that was and recount the good parts, and maybe even the not-so-good parts. So here goes… last week this week:
Sweating through 28.4 miles (on the road and trails) plus Orange Theory Fitness. Starting today, I’m switching a few things around to start building the speed and mileage back up, and incorporating three days of 30-minutes strength training sessions. Let’s do this.
Eating way too many not-so-good for you things. I blame the Stanley Cup. But in other eating news, I made a vegan cobbler from one of my favorite cookbooks, Isa Does It, and let me tell you — Isa really can do it!
Wearing Oiselle Toolbelt Rogas. IN LOVE. Not too short, not too long, super light-weight. Juuuuuust right.
Wanting this shirt that sums up my existence.
Writing so many strategy decks at work.
Reading the news has become gut-wrenching. This weekend’s tragedy was sickening and my heart goes out to the families in Florida. This needs to stop. If you need a pick-me-up to clear your head, go running.
Living and loving cuddles with Lola, FaceTime with my nieces and nephews, and these.
Happy Running!
Isa can fucking do it. I cannot agree more!
Hahaha! YES SHE CAN.
I love your writing and photography. Just sayin 🙂
That’s super sweet of you. Thank you!
