Red Angst; Week 3 of the 52 Week Photo Challenge.
Henri: Oh, Willem. Look at this piece. No really, stop and look at it. Feel it. Be it.
Willem: Oh. OH MY.
Henri: My sentiment exactly. I can’t look away.
Willem: It’s such a dramatic depiction of the one percent versus the 99 percent. It’s visceral.
Henri: Such depth. Notice how the stark shadows are shedding light on the 2016 presidential election. One rises to the top, shining bright, and the other’s dark shadows exemplify the doomed tyranny of the other side.
Willem: Can’t you just feel the angst? It’s palpable, really.
Henri: It’s permeating. It’s like the photographer is trying to ask the world, “Are we the yellow cherry? Or the red cherry?”
Willem: It’s so sad.
Henri: The quest to find meaning in this self-absorbed world, simplified to the pure gifts of the earth, while still embodying the modern struggle. Are we in focus, at the forefront, or are we always out of focus and shrouded in mystery?
Willem: Well, Henri. I think that’s the beauty of it.
Henri: I’m done here. Let’s go get a full-fat unicorn milk, turmeric, latte and a rainbow bagel with coconut chia shmear.
In other news, I took a random photo of some cherries and was inspired by this.
