When a friend is generous enough to give you a free entry to a race that literally runs through your neighborhood, you forget about the fact that you’re not trained at all or that the race is a week out.
Instead, you say, “🙋, 🙋, 🙋!”
So I joined in to run the infamously flat and fast Rock ‘N Roll San Jose half marathon and put the October TS&TS playlist to use. With no goal or plan in mind, I ran however my body felt, and all things considered…it felt like cruisin’ and making the heart work a bit.
1 hour and 35 minutes later, I came across the finish line, eight in my division and 47th female overall. I was totally happy with my finish time, but it’s probably because of my unfair advantage. You know… the October TS&TS playlist.
I mean…look at it! Errr…listen to it! My new favorite, “I’m going to F*&! this run UP” song is “Power Glove” by Knife Party (yeah, I get aggressive). But then Sia will calm you down as she and Kendrick Lamar remind you that you have stamina and are the greatest. Just don’t let it go to your head.
Happy Running.
