Whatever emotions you’re feeling on this very, ehem, interesting inauguration day, let’s focus on the fun, carefree, and positive for just a minute today. Like the fact that it’s Friday, I just re-stocked on Annie’s Mac ‘N Cheese that I found on sale for 99 cents a box, and every now and then I’ll try to post some Friday Faves. Then we can get back to the real issues of the world, like why women’s rights should be a given and what qualifications of Cabinet members should really be.
So here’s a quick list of the things that I’m loving lately and hopefully you do too:
La La Land: I admit, I have a tremendous crush on both Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. Honestly, I can’t figure out if I want to be her or her best friend. Either way, the movie is adorable (I may have cried…twice) and the soundtrack has been on repeat, making life that much more delightful. Go see the movie or rejoice in the fact that the soundtrack is on Spotify.
Born A Crime: Trevor Noah’s memoir was recommended to me by a friend and I’m so glad I listened. It tells the dramatic, moving, and sometimes hilarious story of how The Daily Show host he went from apartheid in South Africa to where he is today. Consider me a fan, Trevor.
Bare Minerals Hydrating Cream: Remember that pregnancy acne explosion I was telling you about? Well, it’s still there, but this moisturizer/SPF/all-in-one was the perfect addition to my makeup bag for when you need to face the public but don’t have the time to do the real deal. Because it’s more of a tinted moisturizer rather than a foundation, I just slather some on (using my hands and no mirror) before I need to go anywhere other than under my sheets. It’s the perfect amount of, “Phew, at least I won’t scare anyone now. Sort of.” YAY ADULT ACNE.
Weekend Running: I’m counting down the days until it’s not pitch black at 6 a.m. so I can confidently run outside in the early mornings again. But when the weekend rolls around, that means I get to mix in outdoor, sunny running and Barre3. Let’s just hope the weather cooperates.
Tell me, what are you loving lately? Happy running!
