UPDATE: The contest is now closed but you can still use the promo code “pw15” for 15% off your registration fee FOR ANY 2017 RACE DISTANCE!
To those of you who are able to run a marathon while pregnant, GO YOU. I, on the other hand, am not made of the same super-human genes. So when the Utah Valley Marathon reached out to me about running their 2017 race (which also happens to be their 10 year anniversary), I had to ask for a raincheck.
However, I would be lying if I said I didn’t have some FOMO. I’ve never run this race but it’s been on my radar for a while. Given the fact that there’s currently a tiny human taking up residence inside of me, the race organizers were kind enough to offer me two free race entries to giveaway on the blog. I’m not usually one for giveaways, but two completely FREE race entries sounded like a pretty sweet deal. On the fence? Here’s what you need to know about the Utah Valley Marathon:
WHEN: June 10, 2017. It’s a Saturday race, which I love as it makes celebrating and travel that much easier.
WHERE: The course begins in Wallsburg, Utah, running into Provo Canyon.
COURSE DETAILS: I’ve never run it so I can’t speak from experience, but it’s heralded as “flat and fast.” But even better than flat and fast is that it’s net-downhill. Hello, BQ!
SCHWAG ME: Given it’s their anniversary year, they’ve upped their schwag game and will feature race jackets instead of t-shirts.
TELL ME ABOUT THE DOLLA-DOLLA-BILLS: If you enter the giveaway, it could be free! If you don’t win, use the code “pw15” for 15% off your registration fee FOR ANY RACE DISTANCE! That includes the marathon, half, 10K, you name it.
HOW DO I ENTER: Leave a comment in the comments section below saying why you’d like to win. The contest will close at 6 p.m. PST on Sunday, January 29, 2017. I’ll announce the winner on the morning of Monday, January 30, 2017. And if you don’t win, don’t fret — the discount code above is still valid until race registration closes.
And that’s it! I hope whoever wins runs a mile for me as I wish I could be there with them. Good luck and happy running!
Long time reader, first time commenter! I would love to run the Utah Valley Marathon to try and eek out a BQ-3:00 before September. Last weekend, I took 14 minutes off my marathon PR and got my BQ (3:34:36), but, with only 24 seconds to spare, I doubt I’ll be making it to Boston in 2018 with that time!
I would love to run this race. It’s so gorgeous!
I would love to win this because I need to try a summer marathon. All 5 of my marathons have been in winter in and I’m sick of training in the cold!
I have been fortunate enough to visit Utah from the East Coast several times, but I’ve never been able to run a race there. Last time I was there, I was growing a small human ;). I would love to add Utah to the list of states I’ve run a marathon in too.
Trying to run in every state & have yet to hit Utah. Would love to visit & it would be so much fun!
i haven’t run a marathon since Boston 2015, and would LOVE to visit Utah and run the Utah Valley Marathon this June!
I just HAD a baby and am working on regaining my running fitness. Having this goal on the horizon would be a great motivator for getting in workouts after those long sleepless nights.
So much info in so few words. Toostly could learn a lot.
Mike check. Here’s my flow.
About why Utah marathon , I should go.

I met you once in the Windy City
At an expo you were inspiring and pretty!
Had a PR just shy of BQ
Now want to crush my goals with help from you.
Gotta run Boston before I croak
It’s been on my vision board and that’s no joke.
Please give me a chance to run free and prowd
In your honor I’ll high five babies in the crowd.

I’m typing on my iPhone and I’m excited. 🙂
I’d love to win this!! I just moved to Utah last summer, so I’m anxious to run some local races!!
I would LOVE to win this race! I’m currently in my senior year of nursing school, working two jobs, and training which is b u s y. I have ran one marathon a year for the past four years but have been struggling to find a marathon to run this year. Winning this would be incredible as I would be able to run a marathon for the fifth year in a row and run when I am off of school 🙂 Thanks for hosting this amazing giveaway!
Long time reader, and fellow traveller, runner, and all-around adventurer! I’ve moved around the country a lot in the last few years for work, jumping into races whenever I can, wherever I am. I recently moved to Utah, and this time it looks like it will be for the long haul. I would really appreciate this chance to race and discover my new home!
Thanks for keeping us entertained, Page! Congrats and best of luck with baby Williams!
Thanks Page for the opportunity to win a race ticket I too have never ran this race but I have only heard good things about it. I just started running last year and I think I have gained the courage, and stupidity, to run a full marathon this year. This would be a great race to do that. And as for you, I hope everything goes good with the baby. 🙂
I would love to knock Utah off my 50 state list!
I’m celebrating one-year since my ACL reconstruction this month, and would love to do this marathon with my father! He is the reason I got into running at all, and we love to travel and do races and crazy adventures. This would be a great opportunity to have fun, enjoy the views in Utah, and celebrate being back to being able to run!

Oooh.. this marathon has been on my list of “want to do!” for a while. I’ve been focusing on Ironman races the last couple of years and the thought of training hard for speed on a stand alone marathon again is exciting.
I just had a baby and I’m setting my goals for this year. I also took some time off while pregnant (side note- it’s actually really fun getting back into shape. New PRs every day!) . Utah Valley has been on my radar for years because of that lovely elevation profile.
I would love to run this race because I’ve never run a marathon before. I’m trying to get in marathon shape and registering for this race would give me the proper motivation to push me to where I need to be to complete a marathon. Thanks!
