My fear of running in the pitch-black, freezing, and eerie early mornings only got worse when I got pregnant. I’m in my 30s and still afraid?! Whatever. I’m embracing it.
Needless to say, I retreated indoors and am back to my love-hate relationship with the treadmill. While I still prefer running outdoors, focusing on a short, specific workout can help pass the time and prevent death by boredom.
Thus, I thought I’d share the love — and more specifically, a quick, 30-minute, incline treadmill workout. Get ready to do some climbing as this butt-buster is comprised of four blocks:
- A warm-up (keep this at a conversational pace)
- Two reverse incline and speed ladders (work that booty)
- An incline endurance set (hold on tight)
- A cool-down (back down to that conversational pace)
Anyone can do this (preggos and non-preggos alike), but PLEASE modify any of the elements to meet your personal fitness level. Needless to say, I am not a professional and this is a workout that I personally created just for fun. Please check with your doctor and listen to your body — this ain’t a competition people.
P.S. Here’s a handy printable version so you don’t get sweat all over your phone.
