Taking Time
With 20 weeks of base building under my belt and training just beginning to kick in for Vineman, I know that things are about to get crazy. And while I have undertaken these lofty athletic goals, I can’t forget that I’m now a wife (!) and a puppy mommy, and it will always be my number one goal to spend as much time as possible with my new family.
Thus, for a bit of both physical and mental rest, I opted out of all training for three days and spent some much needed R&R with Chicken Face and Lola in central California (Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, Pebble Beach).
We walked along the pier, rested on the beach, went to the aquarium, ate amazing food, lounged by the pool, dragged Chicken Face to the Big Sur marathon expo just to look around (it was coincidentally the same weekend) and most importantly, we were just together.
I’m already missing the weekend.
Have a great week and happy running!
Hola From Cabo
Good news everyone…we made it to Mexico in one piece and have stocked up on all of the vacaction essentials: chips, guacamole, Corona and enough sunscreen to make pale the new tan. But I couldn’t keep it all to myself. No sir, here’s a little taste of vacation “ahhhhhhhhs” for everyone back home.
P.S. Tried running for the first time post-sickness today. It was a snotty mess and my lungs have definitely seen better days. TMI? Nahhhh…it’s a start!

Day 10 – 13: Sick and no running.
Day 14: 3 miles. Almost coughed up a lung.
